- App Selection: The list of apps you choose to block or ration is stored locally on your device and in our secure database.
- Schedule Information: Your blocking schedules, including times and modes (Strict/Moderate), are stored to enforce your focus preferences.
- Analytics Data: Anonymous usage statistics (feature usage, app performance, crash reports) collected via Firebase Analytics to improve app functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Authentication: Your email address is used for account login and recovery.
- Schedule Management: Your blocking schedules and app preferences are stored to provide the core blocking functionality.
- App Improvement: Anonymous analytics help us understand feature usage, identify bugs, and improve user experience.
- Device Management: Device identifiers help us manage your active sessions.
3. Accessibility Service Usage
Antidope uses Android's Accessibility Service API for app blocking functionality. This permission is used solely for:
- Detecting when blocked apps are opened during your scheduled blocking sessions
- Displaying focus reminder screens or closing blocked apps
- Enforcing your self-configured blocking rules
We do NOT:
- Read your screen content, messages, or passwords
- Track your activity in non-blocked apps
- Collect or transmit your personal data through this service
- Monitor your typing, browsing, or communications
All Accessibility Service processing happens locally on your device. No data from this service is sent to our servers.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
Your blocking schedules and app preferences are stored locally on your device for instant access and offline functionality.
4.2 Cloud Storage
Your email address and device identifier are stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with industry-standard encryption.
4.3 Security Measures
- Data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Passwords are hashed and secured using industry-standard methods
- Access to backend systems is restricted and monitored
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services We Use:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and analytics
- Vercel: Website and API hosting
These services have their own privacy policies and security measures. We ensure they comply with data protection regulations.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data via app Settings → Delete Account
- Correction: Update your email address or preferences in the app
- Disable Service: You can disable the Accessibility Service anytime through Android Settings
7. Children's Privacy
While Antidope is designed for students aged 13 and above, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete such information.
8. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage data may be retained for up to 2 years for improvement purposes.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be notified through the app or via email.
10. Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable data protection laws, including India's Information Technology Act, 2000.
